Finger Gym (Getting Ready to Write)

At English Martyrs’ we want all children to be able to draw and record their experiences and ultimately become amazing writers!

Before children can begin to make marks, draw and write, they need to be ready physically.

This journey can start in Nursery by taking time to explore Finger Gym Activities. These activities are designed to develop the smaller muscles and fine motor skills in children's hands and fingers.

Your child has brought home a "Finger Gym Pack" for you to keep and use at home. We hope you will enjoy this time together and support us in getting your children READY TO WRITE.

We would love to see photographs of your child exploring these activities at home, please email us at:
