Girls football

Miss Moran is joining Mr Thew to coach our girls team this academic year. Miss Moran was once school captain of the first English Martyrs girls team and has continued to play/coach ever since. She is excited about inspiring the next generation of strong, determined female players. 

 

Football will take place on Thursday lunch times. The children should come to school in their school uniform and change into their training kit at break time. They will be first sitting for lunch and will be given the opportunity to change back into their dry, clean shoes after football. 

 

We are entered into the under 11 South League and several cup tournaments. The girls play 7-a-side, with games being 10 minutes straight through (this can change dependent on the game). 

 

We will play mostly on 3G or 4G pitches. This means that NO metal studded boots are allowed. Only plastic studs or football trainers are permitted. The girls MUST wear shin pads.

Grass boots is a North East based charity who sell boots which are good condition much cheaper. Their website is www.grassboots.uk. They're all about making sport accessible for everyone!
