Health & Hygiene Update

Health and Hygiene Update
December 2023

Following on from our previous update we would like to inform you of the following after consultation with Public Health.

We will be continuing with regular hand washing and good hygiene practice in school and will ensure good frequent cleaning is in place in all classrooms and other areas in school.

Please encourage your child to adopt good hand hygiene practices at home - to ‘Catch it (coughs or sneezes), Bin it (bin the tissues), Kill it (kill any germs by washing hands)’ - to help stem flu infections which are also prevalent this time of year.

School will continue to monitor any rising cases of infections but have been advised we do not need to do anything further than is already being carried out.

Thank you for your co-operation and ongoing support.

Health and Hygiene Update
Nov 2023

We have been made aware that there are a very small number of, what we have been informed, may be scabies/hand, foot and mouth cases in Y2S.

These can be infectious and often brought into school without our knowledge.

We are currently investigating this further and are in contact with Public Health North East.

We are also undertaking a deep clean of Y2 as a precautionary measure.

We will communicate any further information we receive.

If you feel your child may have symptoms please contact you GP .
