Safer Internet Day 8th February

Safer Internet Day 2022

On Tuesday 8th February we will be joining schools and youth organisations across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2022. Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote at English Martyrs'. Celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout school.

The theme this year is  ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.

From gaming and chat, to streaming and video, young people are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s roles in creating a safer internet, whether that is whilst gaming and creating content, or interacting with their friends and peers.

We would be delighted if you could join us in celebrating the day by continuing the conversation at home. To help with this, you may be interested in using some of the resources below.
